Dabbling Duck

We had a fantastic time at Dabbling Duck. We are repeat guests with Bodega Bay Escapes (they are the best), so had no doubt it would be good, but it was just right for a family with small children stay. The majority of the house is carpeted (nice carpet, great condition), which was ideal for small children and toddlers tumbling around up and down the split level stairs and in the LR. Whole house well stocked with everything you could need. Towels in great condition, soft/thick. All appliances worked well and I turned up the water heater (per owner instruction book) for our stay and was grateful for that option. Jet bathtub in the master was so relaxing and the kids enjoyed it too. Bath salts, lavender pillow sprays and hand sanitizer placed around the home was a nice touch. There were bins with toys/puzzles for kiddos - preschool to school age kids. Was so easy to have beach toys/chairs/mats available for use.

Opportunities-
Not a 15 min walk to clubhouse/beach-more like at least 20 (I am a VERY fast walker and it took me 20 minutes). You have to walk all the way around the neighborhood to get to it, you cannot just walk straight across the golf course walking path. It was only a 3 minute drive to the beach entry, just meant loading and unloading car seats, something we were trying to avoid.
Sheets very thin - duvet cover and matching cases nice quality cotton but the main sheeting was very thin. owners said 100% cotton - not sure if they now use a linen service so it is up to their stock, but was disappointed in that. Mattresses/pillows very comfy.

Being a busy mom of two young children it would be have been nice to have more detail on what is provided for children - pack/play crib, high chair, stroller were in the house but not in the description; used our own items of course- but could have been less packing.

The gutters/roof at entry stairs leaking, and it was raining - so the steps.landing slippery-could use a repair.

I have been staying at Dabbling Duck for the past four years. It is a beautiful home located on the golf course with a stunning view of the ocean. Waking up every morning to the sound of birds singing and enjoying the wildlife is my favorite time of the day. The house is cozy, and comfortable, and has a well-equipped kitchen. The bed is also very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. This year, there was a lot of rain, so we spent most of our time indoors doing puzzles by the fire and spending quality time with our loved ones. The photos of the house are accurate, and the place is indeed gorgeous. I highly recommend visiting Bodega Head and exploring the coast up to Blind Beach and Goat Rock. There are also plenty of food options available. If you happen to be there on the weekend, don't forget to visit Freestone for some of the best bread ever! All the folks at Bodega Bay Escapes make our visit a breeze, we love working with them.

We recently stayed at the Dabbling Duck and had a great experience. Check in was super easy, the home was lovely, in great condition, with everything we needed to enjoy a few days away. Great views of the golf course and bay, comfortable beds & baths, well stocked kitchen. Perfect for 4 adults. There is a third bedroom with twin beds that would nicely accommodate younger guests. Would highly recommended this home.

Our group had a great time at the Dabbling Duck house. It was comfortable, clean and the house was so well equipped---the kitchen had all the gadgets, lots of games and movies to enjoy and a beautiful view!

Very steep driveway should be mentioned in description. Difficult for elderly. Would have liked to have been closer to ocean. Only slight view of bay.

The Dabbling Duck was very clean and comfortable. We had an issue with the dishwasher not draining, the management company had someone out immediately to fix it. I would recommend the Dabbling Duck.

Beautiful house on the golf course. Quiet neighborhood and waking up to deer on the fairway every morning was nice to see. House is clean and comfortable. Master bed was so comfortable and the view from the patio was worth the trip here. We will be back soon and staying at the DD again. Not sure if I would want to stay anyplace else.The golf course has the most amazing view as well of the ocean a must if your a golfer. Thank you for renting your home out for others to enjoy.

Interior is more modern than most other listings. Very clean. Great for families of all ages. May be problematic for those who don't like stairs or short steps. The whole house is not on a single level but more of a multi-level home. Kitchen is spacious and comes with basic necessities (pots, pans, coffee maker, grinder, electric hot water kettle, dishes for adults and kids, utensils, knife set, dishwasher). Garage fits 2 cars. The driveway is very steep so may be problematic for those who are not used to parking on hills. Laundry machines are well stocked with soap and works great. The only issue was figuring out the heating/cooling system. Luckily we brought extra clothing and the ocean wind helps cool the place during the day. Large windows that lets in a lot of natural lights. There are some toys and video games but our little one was more fascinated at looking at the DVDs since she never seen those before. Mostly carpeted inside so no need to worry about slip and falls except in bathroom and kitchen. I recommend including a step ladder since I was a bit too short to reach the top shelves for items in the kitchen. Love the place and would recommend. I would love to try to book this again with my family as a quiet get-away from the city.

This is an absolutely beautiful home from every perspective with gorgeous light and views throughout. It has every amenity and then some, and was so accommodating for children and
grandchildren. When we return to Bodega Bay we will definitely come back to the Dabbling Duck!

This house was perfect for my family's stay. It was clean, spacious, and i loved the hot tub.

This was our second stay at the Dabbling Duck, and we will return again, for sure. The house is so clean and inviting, well-equipped and super comfortable. We love the water purifier in the kitchen, the excellent mattress, the sunset view from the hot tub on the deck, and of course the proximity to our wonderful coastline.

I have been renting homes in Bodega Harbour since the mid-1990s and this home is one of the best I've stayed in. It fit three couples nicely and the kitchen beautifully equipped with everything three foodie couples could ask for. The decor was lovely and contemporary, beds were excellent, and the location on the 14th fairway really fun. On clear days the view west was lovely.

Had a great stay. Nice house for a family visit to the coast. Had plenty of space for 2 children and 4 adults. Well supplied kitchen. Toys for the little ones. Laundry worked great.

This lovely, bight and clean home has everything one would expect and more including a lovely view all the way down a fairway, past Dorian Beach and on to Bodega Head for glorious sunsets. Dabbling Duck is a beautiful house. The views were nice. It sits on the 14th fairway, so an occasional golf ball hitting the house flying by and watching the golfers retrieve their golf ball was entertaining. I would recommend this home for younger people and family. Not good for people who have knee and back problems, which all of did. Lots of stairs everywhere. We had an enjoyable time, despite the stairs.

Way better than expected! Everything was clean, bright and well equipped. All the amenities were wonderful and the neighborhood was a joy. Will definitely stay again!

Property Management company was very courteous, professional and helpful. The property has a great view of the bay and sits on the fairway of the 14th hole. The house was open and spacious and just a short drive to the beach and pro shop for golfers. There are multiple restaurants close to the house. Our famil had a great time staying at this property.

We called last minute, and the Dabbling Duck was available. This house did not disappoint! Super clean, very well-equipped kitchen, spacious layout and VERY comfortable bed. We'd rent this place again, for sure.

We LOVE this house! Perfect location, beautiful ocean/sunset views, excellent amenities, clean, comfortable, cozy. Had a faucet issue and handyman sent straight away to fix. Could use new outdoor furniture.

The Dabbling Duck was amazing. Not only was the location fantastic, but the house had every amenity we could ask for. The beautiful lighting was the perfect setting for a relaxing stay. This location would be perfect for a family as well as an adults-only trip. We loved winding down in the hot tub and enjoying the views from the patio. We look forward to returning to this location the next time we head to Bodega.

The family had a great time. House was well maintained, clean, and was basically child-proof for our 2 year old which was excellent. Location was great, nice views. Hot Tub was great.

We honestly could not have had a better stay. The place was outstanding and the folks that manage the homes here are so pleasant and easy to work with. Forget AirBnb or VRBO. Book with these folks!

We were very pleased with the cleanliness and the comfortable beds!!!! The views of the 14th hole and the wildlife were spectacular. The driveway is very steep and the use of a garage door opener would have been the icing on the cake!!! We will be back!!!

This house was everything we wanted and more. With two small kids in tow, they had so much fun discovering four boxes of quality books and toys. The soft carpet was also appreciated. Hot tub was great, and sunsets from the patio made it all a beautiful experience. We’ll be back!

Wonderful house, very clean! Slightly outdated kitchen with lack of cookware. But overall a great home. Just look left for golf balls when on the deck. Other then that a great vacation home! Worth renting again!!! I’d recommend this home to anyone!!

Our rental was beautiful, and the view was spectacular! We had room for our two teenage daughters, as well as quiet space for my husband and I. Everything we needed was provided in a well stocked kitchen, and we enjoyed the comfort of the gas fireplaces and the hot tub.

Truly a delightful spot! The house was perfect...location, view, furnishings, cleanliness. We could not have asked for anything better and I have already recommended this to all who would listen to me! We really appreciated the local suggestions for food, restaurants, sightseeing. The walk to the beach was invigorating and not too far. Very clear instructions for TV, gas fireplace & hot tub. We were a gals group of five. I would highly recommend for families or small groups. You will love this space!
The only thing I could not find was a broom and dustpan!

We have spent Thanksgiving in Bodega Bay for the past 21 years. This was our first time in Dabbling Duck and it did not disappoint. The home is very well equipped & has a beautiful view. Since we cook a full turkey dinner, we were surprised there was no garbage disposal, but we managed. Bodega Bay Escapes is a great company to rent from.

Had a wonderful weekend in the Dabbling Duck. The place was so clean and comfortable, it could not have been better. Cant wait to book again.
