Grebe

I rented Grebe and another house for a 12-person gathering, with Grebe as the main house where we had meals all together and spent time during the day. The house is set up wonderfully for a large group and was impressively well supplied with kitchen tools and gadgets! The views are stunning and the hot tub was lovely. We didn't bring any kids with us but if we had, I know they would have loved the little sleeping nooks. We had only two complaints: the proximity to the golf course was a little nerve-wracking and we did get an errant ball whizzing onto the patio, and the chairs in the kitchen and on the patio are SO HEAVY!!! They were a pain to move around and also so large that it was hard to fit all 12 of us at the table even though the table itself was easily big enough if the chairs had been a normal size. However, we made it work and we intend to return to Grebe the next time we gather a group for a getaway.

We had 5 men for two nights, and 6 men the last night, for a golf weekend. Played Santa Rosa GC and Northwood as well as Bodega Harbor. As good as the golf was, this property was even better. Especially appreciated all the towels, the coffee and tea, the living room for watching football, the hot tub.

We have stayed here before but will try to find something less expensive. Minor complaint: need more than 2 tissues in a box in one bathroom. Wished they offered 3 nights for price of 2 as many owners do.

This is the second time we have stayed at Grebe. The house fits our needs perfectly. We enjoy the short walk to the beach, the pingpong table and the hot tub. This the perfect house for our extended family of 10 people.

I booked this for my birthday party and it was the perfect house for it. Views everywhere and walking distance to beach whoever wanted to go. The house was in good shape and had all necessary kitchen items. Friends who stayed had a great time and others want to rent this house themselves! This is our 5th or 6th weekend at Grebe House. It’s comfy and well located. The large dining room table was nicely refinished. Kitchen well stocked. House well maintained.
One of our guys peeled potatoes and the skins clogged the sink. Bodega Bay Escapes to the rescue! Jesse came and fixed it timely. BB Escapes staff are great! Excellent customer service.
We watched 4 playoff football games- nice big screen TV.
The patio table could use a refurbish but in winter time we didn’t use it.
Lucas Wharf, a fav of ours, suddenly closed down - don’t know why. The Tides Restaurant still open and did fine.
Would def recommend!

The house was perfect for are whole family,three generations! The view was spectacular. Access to the beach was nearby for lots of great walks. It couldn't have been a better stay!!

We had a lovely time in the home which was perfect for our weekend getaway and dinner. The kitchen was generally well stocked and had what we needed to get dinner on the table. It was a bit odd with two microwaves and one that didn't work. The power also went out in the town of Bodega until 4am on Sunday morning which interfered our ability to use the spa. The furniture and carpet in the home are due for upgrades or even replacement. Home is warn and well-loved, but I would think with the use (rentals) would come income to make enhancements. Overall, this home worked great for our group, plenty of parking, plenty of beds and a beautiful place to enjoy. Thank you!

The bottom sheet on the queen bed in downstairs bedroom was my only complaint. The corner seam was torn and therefore the sheet didn't stay tight. This was 3rd year in this home as family outgrew a smaller home.

I have stayed in this home 5 times over the years. I love the home because of the location and there are 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms for a group of people. I like the walk out patio. While it does have some recent kitchen and bath upgrades, the common area furniture needs to be upgraded, more of it and positioned to enjoy the ocean views. The round table and chairs need to go...they are old and sticky. I am sure owner is making improvements as time goes on. I will stay here again.

This house was perfect for a girls weekend. The rental process was easy and when I had a question it was answered immediately. The house was beautiful with amazing views. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. There was a lot of space and the house was laid out nicely. Thanks for a weekend to remember.

We have stayed at the Grebe house for many years for our guy's golf trip. The house sleeps all of us comfortably and has everything we need. It is a great place to stay. Wish it has more birdies and less bogeys and double-bogeys. :)

Grebe was very comfortable for our large family gathering. Close proximity to the beach access, beautiful view of the ocean.

Just spent a fantastic weekend making memories with the over 50 year ladies in my family and could not have picked a better place! The pictures do not do the house and view justice. It is beautifully furnished and the bathrooms new renovated. five spacious bedrooms and 3 bathrooms to comfortably accommodate 10 guests(plus two cute little sleeping nooks that kids would love!). Nice size living room with wood burning stove and huge TV. Lots of games and puzzles to keep you entertained. Well stocked kitchen and large dining room table for family meals. Big hot tub (with a view) and a fantastic patio over looking the 8th hole. 180 degree views that can't be beat! We have rented over a dozen houses in BB, and this is at the top of my list! We will be back! A big thank you to the owners for sharing their home with us!

We rented this house for a group to celebrate a birthday. First I will say I am a very picky person and never stay in hotels less than 4 stars. I had no complaints for this house. The house was very clean and well equipped. The house has everything you need. There are two rooms upstairs with extra little nook beds located behind the doors which can accommodate a child or small adult. We would absolutely book this house again and actually talked about booking again this summer. The walk to the beach is less than 10min. The views are amazing.

Our group of friends had a wonderful experience. We walked from the rental home to the beach. We also went on a days hike along the bluffs called the Kortem Trail. We especially appreciated the large kitchen table that accommodated us during meal time.

The views from this house are amazing. On Friday, as we were leaving some man was coming up to get paint out the garage, we hadn't received a call, but he came and left. The upstairs bedroom with the full bed, the striker plate for the door is stripped, so therefore, the door doesn't shut and latch, it was opening and closing constantly. The bedroom directly across from the master's bed, squeaks if you look at it, my son n law said it would squeak if you wiggled a toe.There is a foul odor in the livingroom near the entrance to the stairway, as they were all saying smelled like "poop". Not sure why the SPA appeared so GREEN and murky, but it was enough to keep a few of us out of it. We had a wonderful time, and am not one to complain, but wanted to bring this to your attention, as they seem to be easy fixes and would have made our stay nicer. We will see you again next year!

The draw of Grebe home is that it has 5 bedrooms, though it is in need of upgrades and repairs throughout, including the furniture and lighting. The kitchen was well-stocked, though small for the large amount of people this home accommodates, though it has a huge table to seat all comfortably. The location and view cannot be beat. The guys enjoyed a round of golf. The pluses outdo the negatives for this home. Fishetarian is our favorite casual eatery with fresh fish n chips, fish tacos, crab cakes, etc. The Tides has great breakfasts, traditional eggs Benedict and crab Benedict, too. Gourmet Au Bay was disappointing this time around due to Covid-19 restrictions...boxed pre-made food, weak wines, though the French sparkling was very good.

This house was perfect for our golf outing as it is located on the 8th hole. Great views and nice patio but watch your head on the way out if you’re over 6’ tall. Big living room with wide screen TV, however, didn’t have instructions for operating TV or password for internet. Somewhat disappointing. The bedroom configuration was interesting with 2 cubbie holes for sleeping. Needs some upgrading in bathrooms and couldn’t get hot tub to heat up. All in all, we enjoyed our stay but some upgrading and fixing would help.

We had a nice time. The rental was clean and comfortable. They did not have an instruction book including how to use things or the internet info. We had to call for it. Also there was a problem with the hot tub, but we were able to use it and the problem was fixed before we left.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Grebe. The location was perfect and the house was exactly as described. Property management was quick to respond to two minor issues. The hot tub was perfect and views incredible. Would definitely stay again.

We have been to the Grebe house many times and it does not disappoint. It suits our needs perfectly. We will definitely be back!

The only think you may want to check is the plumbing (we mentioned this upon checkout) as the upstairs shower may have a leak dripping into the downstairs bedroom closet.

Great location and good floor plan with awesome views and plenty of sleeping space. Management needs to update to code locks. Not convenient to drive extra 5 miles to office to get keys and then again to return them. Please upgrade to combination deadbolt. Beds are a little hard.

Absolutely perfect!

My academic team has used the Grebe house numerous times for our weekend study. It is spacious and provides us plenty of areas for either large group or small group work. Beach access is close by (walk down a dirt trail), the views are fantastic, and everything met our needs.

Awesome views. More than enough space for 10 people and grill was great to cook with too. Very enjoyable experience. Only gripe would be a better dishwasher. The one there was hard to start.

Have stayed in this house for the past 8/9 years. Great location. Beach is close by. Plenty of room for all of us. Kitchen dining area are alittle small, but workable. Love the outdoor area and it’s dog friendly. Will be back

Our family rented 2 houses in this complex to accommodate 13 of us total. Grebe was our main hangout because there were more bedrooms there. Nice views from house over golf course to bay. The living room has only a sectional, which was not satisfactory for elderly parents; they'd have liked an easy chair that was higher to get out of. Large dining table seated 13 of us by adding stools from kitchen counter. Smaller round table in LR great for jigsaw puzzles (there is a huge cabinet full of them!) Ping pong a nice option in this house. Kitchen very well equipped (good knives, gadgets,colanders, many pots, adequate dishes and glasses, etc.)and plenty of spices on hand. No bath mats in bathrooms and no extra towels available in house, so be prepared. Nice BBQ outside. Generally, furnishings seemed a bit dated and well used, but adequate for our needs. Property company very responsive to replacing missing light bulbs, but for cost of rentals, I would have expected that all would be in good repair without our asking. The house worked for our group, just not my idea of beautiful. Be aware that walking in this complex is on the road, not the golf course. It's not heavily trafficked fortunately.

We were looking for an affordable weekend package in Bodega to enhance our Board of directors retreat. This home delivered - good value, ample sleeping/meeting rooms and a fully equipped kitchen - the plus was an incredible view above the golf course of the entire Bodega Bay.

We had a fun time.

We had a great time but there were a few issues with the house:
- Not very clean in general and the kitchen was bad, almost every dish/pot/pan we pulled out had to be cleaned because there was dried food residue left behind.
- Lots of non-working items:
- Outlets in all bathrooms not working, finally found GFI master outlet in garage which we were able to reset.
- Dishwasher was VERY difficult to close so that it would run, also it
wasn't anchored so it would push back or pull out of the cabinet.
- Dryer took forever to get clothes dry (over 2 hours for a load of towels).
- Coffee maker lid was broken, we had to prop it over the water reservoir
while making/serving coffee.
- Window in downstairs hall bathroom was broken, couldn't be closed
once opened.
- Door from garage outside to barbecue area wouldn't open, had to go
through slider and around to get to barbecue or to take garbage out
to shed.

We booked the property Grebe for a family reunion in October. The property was perfect with full amenities in the kitchen and throughout the house. The beds as well as indoor and outdoor furniture are very comfortable. We loved the large dining tables both indoor and outdoor. We were 9 folks and we all fit perfectly around the tables. The view is also spectacular. Making the reservation with Bodega Bay Escape was very convenient. They are very professional and willing to help in any way. It was a perfect accommodation.

We really enjoyed the location and home was good. The only thing wrong was it was a little out dated for us and the home has a severe ant problem. We will use bodega bay escaped next year but would love to find a different home.

I was here with my family and the house was wonderful. The view was phenomenal and the location was fabulous. We came to celebrate my brother's birthday. He passed away in 2015 and we had family come over on Sunday to celebrate with us. Parking was great, as we were the only ones there. Thank you for such an amazing, relaxing and memorable weekend.

Comfortable beds, quiet, patio seating for breakfast made for a restful stay

We had a great stay at Grebe House. Two families were there for 4 nights to celebrate Christmas. The house is very comfortable - great bedrooms, wonderful and spacious living room (with amazing view!) and walking distance from the beach. Everything was clean. We had an incredible visit!

A few things you may want to consider adding/replacing:
-replace light bulbs in living room (multiple are out so there wasn't much light)
-leave more towels (there were no extra towels)
-replace handle on fire place (or provide glove) - the handle is off and it's very hot to open/close

This was our 4th year of renting Grebe. We love the house so much. It truly feels like home to us all. Plenty of bedrooms, nice fireplace and hot tub. The views can not be beat. The home was as advertised. 10 of us high school friends decided to hold our own reunion. All the attendees were happy with the facilities and amazed at the location and views. There is privacy and plenty of room inside the house. The place was clean. Notable is the very well appointed kitchen, with every plate, dish and appliance you could think of. Coffee pot was not clean and made bad coffee, so bring your own if you like a good cup. The hiking on the beach was a short 1/4 mile from the house and accessible. The golf course is gorgeous. The "sleeping nooks" are quite small and no adult wanted to stay in them, but they would be adequate and fun for children. Overall, the home made our stay better then we expected!

The setting was perfect. Gorgeous views, house size worked well and a nice place to walk to beach or in the neighborhood. The kitchen was well stocked and the size worked for us. The property was clean and well maintained.

We had a great time! Fantastic location and beautiful house. Only complaint is that we weren't told there was an ant issue in the kitchen and woke up to a lot of our stuff covered in ants causing us to throw away food. Would definitely go back though!

Inspiring contemporary architecture and beautiful landscaping all tucked away at the end of a private court. Seclusion, privacy, the golf course and the ocean are a recipe for a delicious retreat from 's a little slice of heaven. And the views, from every vantage point breathtaking. We just barely departed and we're already planning our return trip. And the owner Heidi was engaging and most accommodating. Her personal interest in our satisfaction and caring for our every need was most impressive. We would highly recommend including Grebe House as a destination property for your next Bodega Bay vacation.

Our family had a great time at Grebe House. The layout was terrific for our family of 10. The views are just spectacular. Nothing like viewing the myriad stars from the hot tub. My only recommendation is to leave more soap and a few extra towels.

We had 9 people stay in this house, 4 couples and 1 single. They had plenty of kitchenware for meals and late night drinks and everyone enjoyed the lovely view.

My husband's siblings-and-families got together for Christmas (all 11 of us). The house is great. Beautifully remodeled kitchen, and everything was good quality and well kept up. Could have used a few more wine glasses. We had the bad luck of being there when the furnace died, but the wood burning stove did a great job keeping us warm. The house is very well insulated, too.
We hadn't stayed on a golf course before, and ended up being grateful for the rain, because on sunny days the flying golf balls made the back patio useless.
Beautiful view, and hopefully the furnace is fixed for good and won't be an issue anymore.
The folks at Bodega Bay Escapes were extremely helpful getting us a gate for the stairs and a fence around the stove so the 17-month old didn't get hurt. They were fantastic and responsive.
We couldn't find a remote for the TV in the garage, so my nieces couldn't change the input to hook up their Xbox.

We enjoyed a week of good weather and beautiful views during our Thanksgiving family vacation. There are 11 (ranging in age from 7 to 78) of us and the accommodations were very satisfactory. The kitchen is small but we could work with it. Used the BBQ to do our turkey so it freed up the oven for other dishes.

We had a wonderful weekend at the Grebe house. The house has a great layout, it's private, offers plenty of space and is very clean. The view is incredible! We would definitely recommend staying here. A great home for all ages. Thanks for a fun weekend!

Grebe is a wonderful warm home. Lots of room for everyone both inside and out. Furnishings are charming. Location is perfect for a walk to the beach. This is our 3rd year and we are planning on coming back next year as well.
